What’s The Rush? is an informative newsletter for members and subscribers of the Waterman’s Guild in Santa Ana, CA. A Surfboard manufacturer dedicated to making boards traditionally since 1983. Considering the growth of machine shaped surfboards is on the rise as surfings popularity continues to grow, I decided to highlight the traditional act of hand shaping surfboards in this newsletter. The title represents the time consuming act of shaping a board by hand and how it can’t be rushed as it is a form of sculpture and must be thoroughly thought out. The newsletter is not often funded with much financial support and is created with limited color use and lower quality paper. However, it is the designer’s job to make this informative vessel of communication come together in the end.
